help General
Do you charge a call-out fee? add
No. $0 call-out across Sydney at any hour, including weekends and public holidays. You get a fixed price on site before we start, and you only pay if you go ahead.
How does "same-day or it's free" work? add
Book before our daily cut-off and we will be there the same day. If we cannot make it, we waive the call-out for that booking. Emergency response is targeted at 60 minutes. Full conditions are in our terms.
Do you charge more after hours? add
Our pricing is upfront around the clock. You approve a fixed price before we start, and no surprise after-hours fees are added at the end.
Are you licensed and insured? add
Every Mr Flow plumber holds a current NSW Fair Trading licence and every job is covered by public liability insurance. Gas work is done by licensed gas fitters with a compliance certificate.
What is the lifetime guarantee? add
Our workmanship is guaranteed for life. If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did it, we come back and fix it at no charge.
What payment methods do you accept? add
All major cards, bank transfer and cash. For larger jobs such as hot water replacement or pipe relining, ask about interest-free payment options.
Do you work with tenants and property managers? add
Yes. Give us the tenant's details and we arrange access, complete the job and report back to you with photos and an invoice.
Which areas do you cover? add
All of metropolitan Sydney. See our locations page for local response times and the problems we fix most in each area.
plumbing General Plumbing
Do you charge a call-out fee? add
No. The call-out fee is $0 at any hour, including nights, weekends and public holidays. You only pay for the work you approve, at the fixed price we quote on site.
How does fixed pricing work? add
The plumber diagnoses the problem, then gives you a written price for the whole job before starting. That price does not change, no matter how long the work takes. We do not charge hourly rates.
Should I replace my galvanised pipes or just fix the leak? add
If it is the first leak and the rest of the pipe is sound, a spot repair is fine. If you have rusty water, falling pressure or leaks appearing at more than one joint, the pipe is at the end of its life and a repipe in copper or PEX will cost less than a string of repairs. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.
Can you find a leak without cutting holes in my walls? add
Usually, yes. Thermal imaging and acoustic leak detection pinpoint the leak through walls, slabs and garden beds. We open up only where the leak actually is.
Do you work with strata managers and real estate agents? add
Yes, a large part of our work is for property managers and strata committees across Sydney. We provide written reports, photos and invoices direct to the agent and handle tenant access ourselves.
Is the $50 off my first booking on top of the $0 call-out? add
Yes. The call-out is free for everyone, and new customers also get $50 off the price of their first job. Just mention it when you book.
Are you licensed and insured? add
Absolutely. Mr Flow Plumbing is fully licensed and insured, and every job comes with our lifetime workmanship guarantee.
plumbing Blocked Drains
How much does it cost to clear a blocked drain? add
Blocked drains start from $69, with a $0 call-out fee. We always give you a fixed, upfront price before we start any work, so you'll never be surprised by the bill. The final price depends on the blockage location and severity, which we confirm on site, often with a free camera inspection.
Can you really come out the same day? add
Yes. Book before the daily cut-off and we'll get to you the same day, or we waive the call-out fee. We run 24/7, so after-hours and weekend emergencies are covered too.
Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or public holidays? add
You'll know the price before we start, and there are no surprise after-hours fees added at the end. Our pricing is fair and upfront around the clock.
Will you need to dig up my garden? add
Almost never. Jet blasting and electric eels clear the vast majority of blockages through existing access points. Where the pipe itself is damaged, pipe relining repairs it from the inside with no excavation.
How do I know the blockage is really gone? add
We run the drain camera through the line after clearing and show you the footage. You see a clean pipe before we pack up.
My drain keeps blocking every few months. Why? add
Recurring blockages almost always mean a structural problem: tree roots, a cracked joint or a bellied section holding silt. Clearing treats the symptom. A camera inspection finds the cause, and relining or a spot repair fixes it for good.
Are you licensed and insured? add
Absolutely. Mr Flow is fully licensed and insured, and every job is backed by our lifetime workmanship guarantee.
wc Toilet & Tap Repairs
How much does it cost to fix a dripping tap? add
Tap washers start from $49 and the call-out is $0. If your tap needs a new cartridge, spindle or seat reconditioning, we quote a fixed price on site before we start.
Why does my tap start dripping again a few months after a new washer? add
Nine times out of ten the brass seat was scored and was not reseated, so the new washer never sealed properly. High mains pressure is the other common cause. We reseat every tap we repair and check the pressure while we are there.
My toilet runs constantly. Is that expensive to fix? add
No. It is nearly always a worn outlet valve or inlet valve, both cheap parts. We carry them on the van, so the repair is usually done in the one visit for a fixed price.
Can you repair my toilet or do I need a new one? add
Most toilets can be repaired. We recommend replacement only when the pan or cistern is cracked, parts are no longer available, or an old single-flush suite is wasting water. Either way you get a straight answer and a fixed price.
Do you fix mixer taps as well as ordinary taps? add
Yes. We repair and replace mixer taps in kitchens, bathrooms and laundries, including cartridges, spout o-rings and the whole unit where needed.
Can you come today? add
Yes. Book before the daily cut-off and we will be there the same day, or the call-out is free. We run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
water_heater Hot Water Repairs
How much does a hot water repair cost? add
Repairs start from $99 with a $0 call-out fee. We diagnose the fault, then give you a fixed price before any work starts. If the system needs replacing, you get a separate fixed price for that with $350 cashback on the new install.
Can you fix my hot water today? add
Yes. We run 24/7 and carry the common parts and replacement units on the van. Book before the daily cut-off and we come the same day, or the call-out is free.
My hot water is lukewarm but not cold. What is wrong? add
Most often it is the tempering valve, which mixes cold into the hot line and has started letting too much through. On electric systems it can also be one failed element out of two. Both are quick fixed-price repairs.
The tank is leaking. Can it be repaired? add
If the leak is from a valve, fitting or the relief line, yes. If the tank body itself is leaking, the internal lining has failed and the unit must be replaced. We will show you which it is.
Which brands do you work on? add
Rheem, Rinnai, Dux, Bosch, Vulcan, Aquamax, Stiebel Eltron and Chromagen, plus most other brands still sold in Australia.
Do you install gas hot water systems? add
Yes. Our plumbers are also licensed gas fitters, so we install and repair gas storage and continuous flow units, run new gas lines and issue the compliance certificate.
How does the $350 cashback work? add
It applies to new hot water system installs by Mr Flow and comes off the fixed price we quote you. Ask when you book and we will confirm the details for your job.
emergency Emergency Plumbing
How fast can you get here? add
Our target is 60 minutes anywhere in Sydney, 24 hours a day. When you call we will give you a realistic arrival time based on where the nearest van is, and the plumber rings you from the road.
Do you charge more after hours? add
The call-out fee is $0 at any hour, and there are no hidden after-hours loadings. You get a fixed price for the repair before we start, whether it is 2pm or 2am.
What should I do while I wait for the plumber? add
Turn the water off at the meter for a burst pipe or flood. Turn the gas off at the meter and get outside if you smell gas. Stop using all fixtures if sewage is backing up. The person who answers your call will talk you through it.
Where is my water meter? add
Usually at the front boundary of the property, in the ground under a small lid or in a box on the fence line. In apartments it may be in a cupboard in the hallway or a common area. Turn the tap clockwise to shut off.
Will you fix it tonight or just make it safe? add
Wherever possible we make the permanent repair on the spot. Our vans carry the parts to do that for the vast majority of emergencies. If a part has to be ordered, we make it safe, get your water back on and return as soon as the part arrives.
Do you handle gas emergencies? add
Yes. Our emergency plumbers are also licensed gas fitters. We locate and repair gas leaks 24 hours a day and issue a compliance certificate for the work.
local_fire_department Gas Fitting
Are you a licensed gas fitter? add
Yes. Mr Flow holds gas fitting licences alongside our plumbing licences, and every gas job is done, tested and certified by a licensed fitter. Ask to see the licence on the day if you like.
I can smell gas. What should I do? add
Turn the gas off at the meter, open doors and windows, do not switch anything electrical on or off, and go outside. Then call us on 02 9134 9037. We treat gas leaks as emergencies 24 hours a day with a 60-minute response target.
Do I get a compliance certificate? add
Yes, with every gas job, included in the price. It confirms the work was done and tested by a licensed fitter and you will need it for insurance, warranties and when you sell.
Can you install a gas cooktop where there is no gas yet? add
Yes. We run a new line from the meter to the kitchen, fit the isolation valve and connect the cooktop. If your property has no gas connection at all, we can advise on what is involved in getting one.
Can I run a BBQ off my house gas supply? add
Yes. We install a weatherproof bayonet or isolation point outside and connect the BBQ. The BBQ must be set up for natural gas rather than LPG, which usually means a jet change, and we check that as part of the job.
Do you service gas heaters? add
Yes. We service and repair flued and unflued gas heaters, check combustion and flueing, and replace bayonet fittings. An annual check before winter is a good idea for any older heater.
roofing Roof Plumbing
Is the roof inspection really free? add
Yes. A licensed roof plumber inspects the roof, gutters, downpipes and flashings, photographs the faults and gives you a fixed quote. There is no charge and no obligation to go ahead.
There is a stain on my ceiling. Is it a roof leak? add
Usually, but not always. It can also be an overflowing gutter, a blocked box gutter, a cracked flashing or, in some cases, a leaking pipe in the ceiling. The free inspection finds the actual cause so you are not paying to fix the wrong thing.
Do I need to replace all my gutters or just the rusted section? add
If the rust is in one spot and the rest is sound, a section can be replaced. If the rust is widespread or the gutter has lost its fall, a full replacement is the better spend. We will show you the photos and tell you which it is.
Can you come out during a storm? add
Yes. Our emergency crew runs 24 hours a day. We make the roof safe and stop the water that night, then complete the permanent repair when it is safe to work on the roof.
Do you connect downpipes to stormwater? add
Yes. We connect new and existing downpipes to the stormwater system, replace broken stormwater pipe and clear blocked lines and pits with jet blasting.
Is roof plumbing covered by your lifetime guarantee? add
Yes. All Mr Flow workmanship, including roof plumbing, gutters, downpipes and flashings, is covered by our lifetime workmanship guarantee.
bathtub Bathroom & Kitchen Plumbing
Do you charge for a renovation quote? add
No. We visit the site, look at the room and any plans, and give you a fixed itemised quote for the plumbing free of charge and with no obligation.
What do you need from me before rough-in? add
The model numbers of the tapware, toilet, basin, bath, shower and any appliances, plus the layout you have settled on. Every pipe is set to the fixture it will serve, so changing a mixer after rough-in can mean re-doing the work.
Can I move the toilet or shower to a different wall? add
Usually, yes. It depends on where the sewer runs, whether the floor is timber or slab, and the fall available for the new drain. We will look at the room and tell you which moves are simple, which cost more and which are not worth it.
Do you work with my builder or can you run the plumbing directly? add
Both. We work alongside builders, designers and cabinet makers on managed renovations, and we deal directly with owner-builders who are running the job themselves.
Do you install dishwashers and fridge water lines? add
Yes. Both are common jobs for us, during a renovation or on their own. We fit the isolation valve, run the line, connect the appliance and pressure-test it before we leave.
Will I get compliance paperwork? add
Yes. All our work is done to the plumbing code and we issue the compliance documentation your certifier, council or strata will ask for, plus a gas compliance certificate for any gas work.
